Common questions

Do dog groomers need a waiver?

Many groomers use one to document vaccination status, health and behavior disclosures, matting consent and emergency care authorization. Whether and how it holds up depends on where you work, so have a local attorney review yours.

Are digital signatures valid on a grooming waiver?

In the United States, electronic signatures are generally recognized under federal law, but requirements can vary by state and by the type of document. Check with a local attorney.

What should a dog grooming waiver include?

Owner and pet details, vaccination confirmation, a health and behavior disclosure, matting and shave-down consent, emergency veterinary authorization, photo permission, a liability release and a signature.

Where should I store signed waivers?

Keep each one with the client's record so it's easy to find. Software with waiver storage, such as PawScheduler (every plan, including Free), saves them with a timestamp.
